First day of WHAT?

Well ya'll, it finally happened.  Summer is officially over in this household.  My little bug started back to school today after an amazingly fun and long summer break.

I'm not gonna lie.  I woke up this morning and got a little panicked when I realized I didn't have a scalloped edge chalkboard.  And then that thought spiraled into all the what ifs of said missing chalkboard.  What am I supposed to write on it anyway?  Second Year of Preschool.  Is it called preschool when they are only 2. Oh my gosh, how is he in his second year of school and he is only 2?  Where was I when I sent my kid to school as a BABY!?!  Did he even have teeth last year?!?!  Let the judgment begin.  Maybe I should call it Mothers Day Out.  Yes, lets commemorate the fact that for the rest of this year mommy gets a morning off.  A morning not a day.  Let's not get too crazy.  Doesn't that mean that I should be the one holding the chalk board sign?  Crap. I didn't even buy myself a new outfit for my first day of school? Scratch that. Pinterest Fail.

If I did have a chalkboard maybe I would have written First Day of Froggie School.  Yes, you read that correct.  He was so excited to go to Froggie School.  That's apparently what we will be calling school this year.  I think it has something to do with all the frog decorations in his new classroom.  He literally thinks he is going to learn to be a FROG. Ribbits. Hopping.  The entire gamut of Froggiedom. I hope he isn't disappointed when he realizes they will just be talking about shapes and colors. So here is it...Drum roll please....

Zoo at 2.5

We went to the zoo this week and Cooper walked the entire thing.  We didn't even take a stroller! Now that is a milestone.  He never even asked to be carried and had a blast leading us around.  We almost made it through the entire zoo before the torrential downpour.  Key word ALMOST.  Still fun and a stop at one of our favorite restaurants, Yucatan Taco Stand made the whole trip worth it.  Man I miss that place.

And....WE OUT.

The Harlem Shake

For your viewing pleasure.  My son dancing/bouncing and not necessarily jumping!

Cooper the Cowboy

Having a 2.5 year old is so much fun!  We are just loving all the firsts with our big boy!  Yesterday we drove about 4 minutes from our house to a "ranch" where Cooper rode his first pony!  Her name was Princess.  I know he will love that when he is 16.  We met a few friends up there and at first Cooper was not interested in riding.  He was super happy just observing but the second he saw Mia(one of his older friends) hope onto that pony he was IN. He was going to ride that pony!  So, for all of you friends that are worried about us raising a kid in suburbia and citifying the lad, no fear.  He will be a balanced individual....maybe :)  He did fret a little after he got mud all over his hands.

There he is! SO brave!

Of course, me being the person I am, immediately asked about lessons and planned out his rodeo future.  Then I found out they don't start lessons until six....wah wah.

Jalapeño

You know you're a boy when you will do anything for a cookie.

Science Museum

We took Cooper to the Science museum for the first time.  Although most of the gadgets are a little too mature for him, we still had a fun time and we saw the fire show.  Bobby was about as excited as Cooper to discover that regular coffee creamer when ignited creates a HUGE flame.  I had to hide the creamer for fear of Bobby burning our house down when we came home!

Cool Cars

We saw a VW Bug group meet up by accident on Saturday.  I told Cooper to look at all those cool cars!  He got very excited, we took pictures and even spotted a Filmore look alike( for the Cars movie). Months later Cooper still refers to VW Bugs as Cool Cars.  Apparently I made that there official name by accident!
