Formal Announcement

Many of you have figured it out but some of you are still unsure of what to call our son.  We have decided on Cooper for his first name.  I know, I know....you were hoping for Awesome but I just couldn't do that to the little lad.  Life is hard enough as a boy.  I don't want him to feel overwhelmed with the expectation of being Awesome all the time.  If it were soley up to his Daddy, he would be named Awesome.  Bobby says Cooper will like his name until he hits highschool and finds out what he could have been and then he will be so sad that his mom didn't name him Awesome.  He will wish that the bold word Awesome dawned the back of his football jersey.  That the people at the DMV thought he was joking when he went to get his drivers license.  But then there will come a day when he needs a job.  When he sends out resumes across the country with the name Awesome on them and they all get sent immediately to the shredder.  That is the day he will realize that his mother was and almost always is right.

Baby Cooper's Room: Step 1

We worked on the walls in Coopers room a few weeks ago with Bobby's parents.  It took 3 long days but the room turned out so cute!  Now we need furniture!  And cute accessories, of course!
Before, kind of....we forgot to take a pic of the actual before.

Proud dad working hard!

Look, I helped!

Walls complete

We like it! Puppies approved too.

Baby Shower!

I had my first baby shower for Baby Cooper on Saturday.  It was so fun and everything was so cute and blue.  I really enjoyed seeing friends and family, eating yummy Greggerson's baby cakes and M&M's with baby Cooper's name on them!  Cooper got a lot of super cute presents and I just can't wait to dress him up in his adorable new outfits!!
Blue Hydrangeas, like my wedding :)

What should we eat?

For those of you who know me, you know that I can run a million dollar store, that I can manage over 100 people and that I can even plan out someone elses life(sorry if I have done this to you) but that I cannot, for the life of me, decide where we should eat.  I have never been able to make the most basic decision on the planet, what to eat.  You would think that at my age I would have mastered this small little task but it has only gotten worse.

The other night, Bobby and I were looking for baby bedding(don't get me started) before dinner.  He pulled the 'you are pregnant so you have to pick card' so I decided to man up.  I picked Chuys, I love their jalapeno ranch!  The wait is 30 minutes so we get a buzzer and run to another store.  Well, on the way back I smelled Chinese food.  Bobby swears he never smelled it but I know I did!  I am sure you know where this is going.  I decide that I no longer want Mexican but we should eat Chinese.  Bobby turns in the buzzer and we hop in our car to find some Chinese.  Well, then I suddenly realize that I NEED a snocone.  But the guilt in me knows that I should eat dinner first. Meanwhile, we have a 20 minute drive back towards home to eat Chinese.  This is obviously much too large of a window for me. About ten minutes in I have a sudden change of heart and want a bean burrito.  (Have I said that my husband is a patient man yet?)  And I am starving.

Warning: Never be in a confined space with a hungry pregnant lady.

That bean burrito better get to me fast!  My super husband to the rescue, quick on his feet, finds me a burrito and a snocone in ten minutes flat and still had a smile for me when I announced, I think I need some corn.

Names, Names, Baby Names....

Everyone keeps asking me if we have picked a name out for our little baby boy.  The answer is no, not yet.  Not for lack of trying, on my part at least.  My dear husband is a fly by the seat of his pants kind of guy, so I think he envisions us picking a name as we rush to the hospital.  Perhaps naming him after a street sign we pass or making the license plate in front of us into a name.  But not me.  I am a planner who wants to embroider baby's name on everything I possibly can.  Yes, I am going to be one of those moms.  Go ahead, judge me now.

I thought you should know what Bobby and select friends have come up with for baby names so far.  You need to know what I am going through.  You must understand how long this process WILL take us.  And you may want to say a little prayer for the lad.

These are ranked in no particular order.
  1. Fitchwood Herbold
  2. Herb Bo Herbold
  3. Theodore Herbert Herbold
  4. Ted...you know like Madonna, Eminem, Jay-Z...the kid that is so cool he can't be bothered with more than 3 letters.
  5. Bobby Jr. and we can call him BoJu.

Baby Brain

So, I read about this thing called Baby Brain and I completely thought that it did not apply to me.  That for some reason, I was invincible to this ridiculous idea that a baby makes you forget your car keys and your doctor appointments and the fact that you need shoes when you leave the house!  Yes, I thought I was above all this.  Never have I been more wrong!  I thought I would never forget I was holding a cup of dipping sauce IN MY HAND as I was holding it in my hand.  Only to remember the moment it splats on the floor in Central Market.  Lately, I think that I would forget my head if it wasn't attached!  I have never felt like such a flake before.  Constantly apologizing for being a crazy lady or a pregnant lady or whatever I blurt out in my utter embarrasement that this is in fact ME behaving in an unrecognizable manner.
I ask Bobby every few days, What is wrong with me? And he continues to smile and reply, You are pregnant.  He routinely states the obvious like its a new found discovery.

Lucky for you, I have remained focused for this entire paragraph and I am even going to remember to post this beauty.  But if its five minutes past the time I was supposed to meet you for coffee, you might want to call me.

Boy! Boy! Boy!

We saw our little baby yesterday and everything looks good and healthy so far.  We also got to see that baby is a boy!  I feel such a great peace now that I know the gender and I can stop referring to baby as an it, I mean he, I mean she....what do we say!!  This has been a problem for the last few months.  Now he is the proper word.  I can't wait to start collecting cute outfits and filling up his room with all things boy.  This will definitely be a very new chapter in my life!
"Build me a son, O Lord, whose heart will be clear, whose goals will be high, a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men, one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget to weep, one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past."

Boy or Girl!!!

Today is the day! We find out if Baby Herbie is a Boy or a Girl!!! I cannot believe this day is here already and I am so very nervous and excited to find out.  You know what this means, shopping!!!!! I can finally start buying things for my sweet baby and decorating a baby room. It will be so much easier to picture the future with a gender in mind.  Thank God for technology.  It sure does help out the planner like me.  Lets just hope they get it right!  I keep dreaming we have an entirely pink nursery and then bring home a boy...disaster.

Baby Moon

We got back from our Babymoon a few days ago and I am slowly adjusting to the real world.  I tried to work the first day back but I just couldn't bare it.  Today is a better day and reality is slowly starting to creep back in.

Turks & Caicos, uncharted paradise.  Bobby did an amazing job planning our trip. I mean, I could not have picked a better place to spend some down time with my husband before the poop hits the diaper.  Since most of our days were spent in bathing suits drinking fruity shakes and Fiji water, I didn't really take a bunch of pictures.  Beached whale in a bathing suit doesn't appeal to most people! Just kidding, I'm not that big yet but the growing tummy has begun and does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon!

View from our porch

Can't you just feel the sand between your toes!
